Today snowfall on the Kasprowy Mountain exceeded the most optimistic hopes of all the snow addicts in Poland. During the day we got more than 10cm of fresh snow!
Moreover, forecasts say it will be dumping whole week! Does it mean first pow lines of the season will take place in the beginning of September, in the summer (if we stick to the calendar)!? Sound too good but maybe true!
Kasprowy is not the only mountain in Europe that got some fresh fall. In Hintertux they got 35cm of fresh white blessing
Imagine how great it would be to skip that horrible autumn period and just start winter right after the summer! Sound good? have some hope – it may be happening
If you are living in, or near Czech Republic we have two interesting options for a weekend for you. Both connected with summer skiing.
Proposition #1 – Stereo Wake Skis Test:

Proposition #2 – Connection Bag Jump Freeski Contest 2010:
It’s a huge event in Czech Republic, supported by TwoTip. It’s gonna take place in a City called Jaseniky. It’s a connection of music event with a huge line-up of DJ’s, overnight party and a Ski Bag Jump Competition. Besides a possibility to try new tricks on this bag jump you can try to compete with the best Czech riders for the main prize of 10.000 kr

Lately, the web has been loaded with plenty of trailers for upcoming freeski movies. That means that the scene is still growing and what is important, the quality of image and level of riding is going up as well. Finally for us it means many hours in front of the screens, watching the best freeski action and checking new trends and tricks.
Poland is one of the countries that start to be noticed on the “newschool” ski map. Just now dropped third, after “Folklor” and “People of the White House” trailer of Polish freeski HD movie “The Emotions”. This one is focused on Big Mountain Skiing. Shot with Polish riders on locations like: Alagna (Italy), Krippenstein (Austria), St.Anton (Austria) Zakopane (Poland), La Grave (France) presents the life of a crew of friends searching for good snow conditions.
In the middle of the summer, when most of you are free from any duties and just enjoy sun and free time, spending it for typical holiday activities like sunbathing, travelling, etc. we already start first from few planned contests. That one will concern quite so your vacation. Doesn’t matter if you are laying on the beach, working hard to get some money for winter, visiting unusual places or shreding glaciers, water ramps, whatever. Part of TwoTip Team (Szczepan Karpiel, Bartek Sibiga and Piotr Wojarski) is doing some summer skiing in Maso Corto right now. The Park is really good as for that time of the year – few boxes, some little jumps and XL line with 12m kicker followed by 20m one and a step up at the end of a line. You can ski here from 7.30 till 13 and even though after 10 it becomes slushy you still have enough speed to hit anything. There are also few more riders from Poland with whom we ski together: Robert Szul, Tomek Majewski, Marcin Pośpiech and J.K. and few “Big Names” like Elias Ambuhl and Roy Kitler, so we can watch them doing double corcks and other crazy and steeze tricks. Szczepan already did an edit from few runs from today that we filmed with GoPro HD that we have here with us. Check this out:
Finally the teaser of new Level 1 production film is out. Like expected the “Eye Trip” trailer is taking freeski cinematography to another level Perfect montage, great soundtrack, short shots of original and intersting spots literally teases us and makes us wondering what tricks where exactly thrown down on those spots. Unfortunately this will be reviled only in the full version of the movie, that we have to patiently wait for now. Either way I’m Stoooked!!!

Today we would like to present you a teaser of a new polish freeski production – “Folklor”
“Folklor” was shoot in the 2009/2010 season – it says mostly about trips of Tenchi (the film operator, director, editor and producer) and 2 riders – Bartek Sibiga and Piotr Wojarski. But you will see a lot of their friends from Poland and abroad in the move as well. The teaser is really just a trial of the whole material gathered through the season, even though we can see that it will be interesting and intense – heli shoots, huge kickers, jumping in 2,3 riders at a time, long street rails with several kinks, etc.
This and much much more will be available to see in the full movie coming out in September.
April is a month ending the winter season and starting the summer one. It means lots of freeskiers are switching form skis to other summer equipment like mountain bikes, windsurfing boards, kites, rollerblades, skateboards, etc. or just go to lay on a beach. But If you don’t want to loose that precious summer time and rise freeski skills, there’s lot of options. Starting from most similar to normal skiing – there’s… normal skiing:-)
Pawel despite his young age is freestyle skiing for few years. In this time he managed to stand on podium for few times in different comps. Lately he took 2nd place on the Academic Championships in Big Air and wrote about it on his page (in polish only). You can check there also his: bio, results, photos and edits.
Now Pawel is representing Poland in Val Thorens, France on the finals of The North Face Ski Challenge for riders under 20 years old.
Today polish Head team started their tour to Heiligenblut, Austria. After a year, BURTON ŠPINDL SPRING SESSIONS is being organized in the top Czech ski resort Skiareál Špindlerův Mlýn again. The event, which is being organized in April 8 to 11, is the last snowboard/freeski event of the season dedicated to all winter sport lovers to say good bye to the local winter season. Four days long photo and video shooting during the day and partying during the night were honored as “event of the year” by the local Board Magazine Awards and also by its visitors in the previous years. “It is a big motivation for us to prepare a better event every year” said Petr Najman, head of the project.
This year, for the first time we had the european edition of winter X-games. All most know athletes came to Tignes, France to compete for medals and money prizes. Level was insane – I still can’t believe in the landing that Tom Wallisch did after his double corck 1080. Let’s skip the words – you can check all in the highlits posted below:
Jano Krzysztof is one of the first riders on polish freeski scene – he always did original tricks and stand out from other riders. This season he managed to get on podium on few imporatant contests: 2nd in Polish Championship, 1st in Czech Freeski Open, 2nd on Billaong Freestyle Festival. This are just few of many trick that Jano is capable of doing:
W dzisiejszym newsie znajdziecie edit nakręcony minionej niedzieli w Snowparku Juliany przez Marcina Pośpiecha i Andrzeja Włodarczyka. Trzeba zaznaczyć, że wszystkie ujęcia zostały nakręcone w ciągu 4 godzin luźnej jazdy. Chłopaki wybrali lajn rurek na Julkach – pierwsza lajtowa dubeltówka i druga wygięta przez ratrak rurka z wybiciem na końcu. W edicie możemy zobaczyć zejścia 45 w 3 strony w wykonaniu Marcina i różne switch upy z zejściami 27 Andrzeja, a wszystko zgrane z przyjemnym rapikiem i dobrą pogodą. Nie obyło się też wywrotek na lód przy próbach zejść 45 (jak to określił Andrzej nieźle go ta rurka oszukała).

It’s already a 7th edition of Level 1 Superunknow Contest for the best edit – the winner has chance to promote himself by taking part in the newest movie made by Josh Berman. It’s a pity that only 3 riders can take part in the Jon Olsson Super Sessions contest, because many of the uploaded edits were on the highest possible level. I regret a little that there wouldn’t be Corey Vanular and Lolo Favre, but either way we can expect a truly epic video from Team NS.

Niestety z powodu słabych warunków śniegowych impreza Salomona Jib Academy, która miała odbyć się w niedzielę 21 lutego, zostaje odwołana!
W piątek wieczorem Parkowa Dolinę nawiedził deszcz, który padał jeszcze w sobotni poranek i to on jest odpowiedzialny za “morderstwo” pokrywy śnieżnej.
W najbliższym czasie Salomon ogłosi nowy termin, tak więc bądźcie czujni!
Już 21 lutego, czyli w nadchodzącą niedzielę w snowparku Parkowa Dolina (Istebna) odbędzie się długo oczekiwana, debiutancka, edycja Salomon Jib Academy.
Salomon Jib Academy to impreza na której młodzi pasjonaci freestyle’u (do 16 lat włącznie) mają okazję pojeździć i poznać Polski team Salomona. Nie są to normalne zawody. Po prostu luźna sesja ze Szczepanem, Markiem i Piotrkiem. Przez cały dzień team będzie Wam pomagał w doskonaleniu i nauce nowych trików , a na koniec wybierzemy rajderów którzy naszym zdaniem najlepiej i najbardziej stylowo radzili sobie z przeszkodami oraz na skoczniach w parku. Zwycięzca może liczyć na wsparcie sprzętowe Salomona do końca tego sezonu.Na tej imprezie nie musicie się martwić o wpisowe i dobrą zabawę. Musicie tylko wypełnić oświadczenie (obowiązkowo!!!), wykupić całodzienny karnet oraz nie zapomnieć o kasku!!!

W zależności od pogody i samopoczucia uczestników impreza może ewoluować , w końcu ma to być luźna i przyjemna dla Wszystkich sesja. Jeśli będzie zimno i będziecie mieli dość jazdy wtedy skończymy wcześniej , a jeśli pogoda będzie piękna i wszyscy będą chcieli śmigać do nocy tym lepiej!
